The law in Spain clasiffies the chauffered transportation of passenger in a SPECIAL C CLASS that needs a license officially known as “Transporte Público Discrecional de Viajeros en Turismo de hasta 9 Plazas” or Public Transportation of Passengers in Vehicles Up to 9 Seats. It´s mandatory to have a Transportation Card Pemission (VTC) for each vehicle, issued by the Town where the car is domiciled.
The VTC licence permits us to offer our services throughout Spain, but requires that every transfer needs a preview detailed “roadmap”, a contract which specifies the service, and official complaint forms as in any other public service in Spain.
All our units also keep updated a mandatory liability, and drive with a SP (Public Service) sign next to the plate to identify them as this type of licensed vehicles.
Today , the law in Spain allows self-employed drivers working prior to December 2015 or companies engaged in the activity providing a minimum of 7 units in service , so it is common in Spain that the owners of the vehicles are self-employed drivers as well, and usually, they are organized in legal cooperatives to provide services , but working independently.
One of the peculiarities of the law, requires that companies engaged in the activity need to have a minimum of 10 units in service, so it is common in Spain that the owners of the vehicles are self-employed driver as well, and they are organized in legal cooperatives to provide its services, but working independently.
PLATINUM CARS is a quality brand in luxury chauffered transportation service and all our drivers are the owners of the vehicles and the license, so the quality of service we offer and the involvement of chauffeurs are above that can be expected from an employee driver.
